"I do not know when my love of art began, perhaps before I was born, and my parents played Mahler for me so I might enjoy it there inside, that music and those colors and forms that I perceived were surely the beginning, pure and simple, without prattle about genetics or inheritance… Later, as a quiet (maybe reticent) little girl, I sketched and sketched, always persons, faces… the nose was never right!
Time passed and I studied graphical design, bachelor’s and master’s degree at the Universidad Intercontinental… There I had my first encounter with the human figure, those classes on nude drawing were the most enjoyable of the curriculum, I even moonlighted for a couple of classmates… this I confess now that there is no danger and my diploma is framed on the wall next to the staircase.
After the University I have taken several courses in art, History of Art at the Instituto Helenico and the Universidad Intercontinental, Artistic Bookbinding at the Juan Pablos Museum, Ceramic Turning, and Enameling at the UIC, Portrait with Master Jose Barbosa at the Casa de la Cultura Jesus Reyes Heroles, in the very Coyoacan.
This road has but made hungrier for knowledge of the arts and cultures, desire to know subjects and a need to portray them on paper, capturing something in them by means of sight and letting it see the light in two dimensions with my hands."
